Help with setting up our HP 9200c DIGITAL SENDER

We just received a brand new HP 9200c Digital Sender.  I am in the middle of setting it up.  My question is would I need to have Administrator rights to the Exchange Server?  And what if the Exchange server is located in another state?  Would I still be able to hook my Hp 9200c up and use the email function?
We are running Microsoft Outlook 2003,
Operating system is Windows XP sp 2
Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I have installed the software and assigned a static IP address.  Is there any way I can do this without involving the Exchange administrator who is located in Denver, Co.?
We are located in Seattle.

Hi seagto,

No, you will have to wake him up I'm afraid. Try it and see maybe you'll get lucky and it will work. I doubt it though.

cheers,

Hi Frankco,
:-)  Thanks.  I can't believe how much of a trouble this scanner is.
