Resolve multiple hostnames to IP and ping tool

I want a GUI tool that will either read in a text file of hostnames or read from specific OUs in AD and resolve the hostnames to IP addresses and then ping them.  The end result should be some sort of table with the hostname, IP address and the ping result (which could be just "No response" or "Response Rec'd" or similar).  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Or have any code?  The tool doesn't have to be free, if you know of a program that does it that would be fine.

Example:

PC1   192.168.1.100  No response
PC2   192.168.1.102  Response received
PC3   192.168.1.103  Response received

Before I write something for you, this script (http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=886788) will actually ping a range of IP addresses, writing the output to an Excel spreadsheet.

Is that along the lines of what you're after?

That looks about right.  The only thing I'd like to change is to have it read in a text file for the hostnames (or connect to the OU if you're really ambitious), rather than enter the IP address range.  If you're writing this I'll up the points to 500.
Well, if you're going to up the points, why not shoot for the OU route, eh? :^ )

You want a single specified OU to be scanned - all containing computers to be pinged and output to a spreadsheet?

That would be excellent!  And a single OU and and sub-OUs within it if possible.
Now you're stretching me...lol
Alright - give me a few...I'll just start from scratch (I hate working off someone else's code)...back in a bit..

I hate to be a pain, but can you do one that just reads in a TXT file of the hostnames?  I'd be happy to open a different thread and give more points.
Sure.  Just post the link here, and I'll be glad to work on that one as well.
Is this one working for you?

I'm having trouble with it getting the OU info so I figured it would be easier if I just exported the hostname list from the OU into a TXT file and had the VBS file read that in rather than add the complication of having it connect to AD.
I don't mind getting this working as originall planned, if you want to...
What sort of trouble are you having getting at the OU?
