Windows 2003 server SP1 hangs on "Applying computer settings"

I have just installed windows 2003 Ent server SP1 on my Exchange 2003 sp1 server. Rebooted. I used RDP to update windows server 2003 Ent. service pack 1.  When the server came back up, it is hung on "Applying Compter Settings"  it took about an hour... I already tried to unplug the nics to allow a faster boot, but no luck.  (No I'm not running any APC PowerChute sotware) Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. It's up now and I can login but I can't keep it like this and I need to proceed with SP2 for Exchange 2003.

Check DNS settings, SRV records.

Internally Netlogon also uses LPC to find DCs via DNS.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out.  The HP NIC Teaming was enabled and W2K3 SP2 didn't like the old drivers for the NICs or the Teaming utility.  Went  into safe mode and fixed it also disabled all the HP utils until I can update them with the latest drivers. Exchange SP2 went fine after that. PITA. Cheers.
Do you have "old" APC software installed? It has fits on SP1 updates before until they updated to the newer version. Verify it first (safe mode boot), disable the service from auto start, and hopefully it will let you through.

Good luck.
