Is Remote Desktop or Citrix over unsecure wireless secure?

Hi,
I have open wireless Internet. If I use Remote Desktop or Citrix to connect to my server, is it secure? Or do I have to use some kind of VPN to make such connection secure?
Thank you very much.

Is it secure??? i mean if they know the password to the server than they can get in. Also someone from the outside can filter the text through your router and get your password.

Nothing is secure :)

Hi Reducer01,
If I configure the server to use high encryption, is it secure enough even over unsecure wireless connection?
Please let me know. Thank you very much.
If you're going to allow remote desktop to your server over the internet then there is a better way to do it.  Set up a RRAS on the Windows 2003 server and use Windows built-in VPN to VPN into the server from your house, then establish the Remote Desktop connection.  That way you have a for-sure encrypted connection to your server.

If you just remote desktop to a public IP address tied to your server, it will be secure, but not as secure as doing it via a VPN.  Be sure you're using the latest Remote Desktop client on your PC.
It's great. Can you post some quick start on RRAS? I may implement it later. Thanks a lot.
Here's the main page with general info as well as some step-by-step instructions:

It's a great solution. And it is quick. Thanks a lot.
