FTP to the netware box, accessible from the XP pc's via CIFS NFA.

I'm having trouble with CIFS Native File Access from an XP client to the Novell server.  The server show up in Network neighborhood with the _w suffix, ftpserver_w,  but when I try to connect I get "ftpserver_w is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. The specified server cannot perform the requested operation."

The company is using cyberlynk ftp services, paying $440/yr for 2GB of storage.  I suggested in-house ftp, but they said they were worried about security, which is why I went with the NW OS.   I put up an old workstation with 512MB of RAM, 20GB HDD that should do the job, but they need CIFS access to the server.

Shineon, great suggestion using NetStorage instead of CIF's.  I'm working on it, but having some struggles.  On back burner for a while.

NetWare is a computer network operating system developed by Novell, Inc. It initially used cooperative multitasking to run various services on a personal computer, using the Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) network protocol. It is hardware-independent, running on any suitable Intel-based PC compatible system, and a wide range of network cards. Products inclue NetWare Directory Services (NDS), a global directory service similar to Microsoft's Active Directory; GroupWise, an email system; ZENworks, an application configuration suite; and BorderManager, a security product. Open Enterprise Server, the current iteration, runs on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
