Permenantly Removing an Add-in in MS Word 2007

I am Using Word 2007 in a Windows XP, SP2 environment.  Although I have tried to remove the ScanSoftpdf.dot  Add-in several times, the program keeps loading and I can't figure out why.

This is what I've done: From within Word, I have accessed Office Button\Word Options\Add-Ins and have removed all Add-in entries that were listed under Word Add-ins and under Global Templates, nothing for this program was listed under COM Add-ins.

However, even after I have removed the Add-in, the next time I start Word, the add-in is again listed.   I have also tried deleting the template from the C:\Documents and Settings\RSINCLAIR\Application Data\ScanSoft\PDF Converter 3.0\Templates\ScanSoftPDF.dot, but the file keep being recreated, even after I have removed the Add-ins.  How can I remove this Addi-in from my Global template permanently?

Thanks Rober

I think it's probably stored in the Startup folder (Tools, Options, File Locations, Startup).  Just remove it from there.  You will need to browse to that locations via Windows Explorer.  You can't see them in the Tools, Options, File Locations window.

And to be safe, do a search of hidden files on your C: drive and delete any additional ScanSoftPDF.DOT files that you find.

No, I checked in the startup folder and there is no trace of any Scansoft file there .  I also looked for hidden files and on my hard drive (including the startup folder) and found nothing.  Where else should I look?
I'm not sure but this may apply to your situation:
