Excel Tools>Options>Calculation setting switches back to Manual after being reset to Automatic
What can you do when the Tools>Options>Calculation setting in Excel constantly changes to Manual after resetting it to Automatic? This is a major problem where I work. Is this a network problem? Might it have to do with how specific workbooks are behaving?
Thank you very much for your advice. I will work on solving with your methods and award points as soon as I can. The environment I work in is a network where access to everything goes through a terminal server. I have a laptop that connects to this, but the Excel on the hard drive of the laptop is not having a problem. It's the Excel on the network. I also have to consider that the problem may derive from Oracle Applications. The Excel worksheet that is having the problem is generated from an Oracle pluggin called ADI (Application Desktop Integrator) which supplies reports that have macros embedded in them and offer a connection to the database. Perhaps the macro at fault is one that produces this connection. I'll have to test this and see. Or it may be users that don't know what they are doing inadvertantly resetting the Options and then distributing Reports and other sheets after having done that. We'll see. Thanks again.
