No catalog for full backups Veritas BackupExec 10.0

I am running Veritas BackupExec 10.0. When I run a full back up there is a catalog in each of my servers' drives for that backup (under the restore tab). The only thing it doesn't make an entry in is my 10 year old disk array that crashes the most (go figure). My daily differentials get put in the restore catalog for this array. Just not the full jobs. Anyone have the same problem?

Problem seems to that your 10 year old disk array crashes when the full backup job is run as it is more intensive on the disk array as compared to the differential job. Looks like the disk array not able to handle a full backup job.

I found that it was heavy fragmentation on the array. A 2 day defrag fixed the problem.
