try upload your software to your web server, put it in a directory where it can be access via HTTP or FTP, for example. So that you can download it later.

Usually what we did is to have a FTP Client (program) on our local machine, where we accessing to the web server via FTP connecting. So that means your web server need to have a FTP Server installed. This is the most common way we do to upload a file to web server.

Another way is to use HTTP method, where you are providing a web-based form, to select a file and upload it to server. But this method is usually not available by default for web hosting company, and because the connection speed of HTTP is slower than FTP, so we usually prefer to use FTP to upload files to server.

You may download some FREE/Shareware FTP Client from download.com, etc.

I already have some FTP software.  I wanted to know how to add software to my website and know how I upload the software?  As simple as possible.  

You need install a FTP Server on your server, basically it will use port 21. There are many FTP Servers on the market. You may google and try download some to try out.

I have downloaded Golden FTP Server.  Now what do I do with it.  Cant seem to find a help pages.

Does the person who is downloading the software the other end need a FTP programme?  Im guessing that they do.

It's depends on how you want your software can be downloaded from your website, generally to download a non-server side scripting file (any files, include your software), it can be using HTTP or FTP.

While FTP is usually faster than HTTP, but the end user will need to configure before and IF you wish the end user to connect to your Server via FTP. By using HTTP, you probably just need the end user an URL.

I install FTP on computer then I clicked on the link on my site and it came up connecting.  Thats it nothing happens after that.  I am using the Golden FTP Server.  Can you explain a bit more about congifure the other ends computer? thanks, ziggles.
