FTP Server is refusing new connections after brute force...

This is a Windows 2003 Server, SP2.  I have tried restarting the server twice but it still will not allow connections.  There were 74,000 System log entries full of bogus logon attempts - 1 ever second between 3:00 AM this morning and 6:40 AM.  Any idea how to get the server to accept connections again?

Error is: The connection was refused by the server...

carcenea: So I had a senior moment on the where abouts of the FTP Service account - you helped make that clear plus added additional helpful info regarding the System logs (which I did clear before posting here - the were thousands of entries...)

KCTS: thanks - you were probably on track but your bedside manner is a bit coarse...
