I am sick and tired of going to web sites that say their information is free only to find out it is not.  For example, I went to find a lousy adress and clicked on (I believe it was Yahoo free white pages).  I knew the persons name, city and state and only needed the street adress.

So when I get there, I find out I have to pay $7.95 for the information (even though it said Free up front!)
This happens all the time, with other things.  You see free, and it is not.

I am not adverst to paying for things.  I pay (glady) $9.95 a month (for years) to EE for their information.  I also know people are in business to make money but I highly resent web sites that promote free just to get you there (bait and switch tactics).

So the bottom line question is "is there any central location (ie. web site) that lists truly free web sites for various catagories, things, etc?

Then, when (for example), I needed a lousy adress, I could go to one of the urls I had on the Free list knowing it was not a bait and switcfh.

To me, this is worth 500 points to the answers.
