Move Exchange 2003 databases and logs to new partion on same server

I have an Exchange serve with a partitoned drive.  The c partition is too small and I want to move Exchange to the E partition.  I know in Exchange 5.5 there was an optimizer that would scan the drives and move the datatbases to the drive with the most space.  That is gone in Exchange 2003.
I did find a KB article on Microsoft's website kb 821915 "how to move Exchange datbases and logs in 2003".
Has anyone ever done this?
Currently all user email is on another serve in pst files.
The only data in Exchange that I need is a shred addressbook.
The kb steps seem simple, should I expect problems if I move the datatbases/logs?
Email now is hosted by outside company and I am trying to prepare for in house hosting and I know I will need Exchange on the bigger partition.
I am preparing to move users off pst files and have their mail stored in their Exchange mailbox.
Thanks

By the way, I think it would be better if you gave Exchange a separate physical drive, rather than a partition.  Unless that is what you meant?

The Exhange server has 1 drive (mirrored) that are partitioned into a C and E partition.  If I move Exchange to E it will give me lots of room for the databases and logs.
Yes, no problem.  I was just thinking that the server might perform better if the Exchange DBs were on a totally different drive, rather than on a different partition on the same drive.  If adding another drive is not an easy option for you, then that's no problem - it will still work.  Mirroring is a great idea.
