what is a jspf file

Hi guys

I needed some information on JSPF files like
What is the use of JSPF files
Why is it used
and
What are the advantages and disadvantages if any

i started a new poistion and while going over the code I found that JSPF files are included in many jsp files but I am not sure why it is used. Any help will be greatly appreciated
