I'm looking for a pc game.

I've played the Doom series, watched numerous zombie movies...now I am looking for a zombie game where the game is centered around one person who must survive the zombie onslaught.  I'm looking for more of a modern day type scenerio game, but I'm open to other ideas.  Anyone gamers got some games I should check out?

PC games I'm not entirely sure of...

I could recommend a few for XBOX 360 or PS2, but if you're looking for PC games only I would only be able to recommend games based on other people's reviews, not my own.

I've seen Resident Evil 4 coming out in June...I'll be waiting with anticipation!

And someone showed me Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

Looking for some more :)
Ah, perhaps I misunderstood your statement about a modern day scenario - are you looking for a relatively recent game, or does that matter?
i guess i meant by modern to be "an average guy finds a shotgun and defends himself from onslaught of zombies"

recent enough that I can still buy it in stores and has damn good AI and graphics

keke I am fan of Starcraft... why don't  you try out real strategy game like SC ?? where you can meet ppl... fight for your stats.

There is a hugh community of SC on BNET
i played star craft for years bro.  since 6th grade to almost the end of high school every now and then.  who hasn't played SC? you know? haha.

I'm currently playing Medieval 2 Total War and F.E.A.R.  great games.  graphics are awesome.
Crimsonland was awesome!

Reminded me of that game where you are a fight jet and have a bird's eye view.
F.E.A.R. is amazing. I have yet to play Medieval 2, but I keep hearing great things about it. Might have to check that one out.
make sure to get the patches when you get the game.  every game has glitches, but if you're new to it, its best you don't even experience the first ones I went through haha.

Have you beaten F.E.A.R.?  I'm in the middle of it right now.
Yea I beat it on Hard difficulty. Great story, great AI, great weapons (Shotgun anyone?). I cannot wait until the sequel(s) come out.
What's the name of the sequal?  Extraction Point?

Zombie you want?

Half Life 1 / 2 on PC
G.O.W. on Xbox360 (*not Zombies but cave dwellers)
Ghosts and Goblins on Spectrum (* Again No Zombies)
I've played Half Life 2 :o) great game.

I just got Resident Evil 4!  I will be trying it out

I'm not sure what they're gonna call it, but supposedly it's being turned into a series of games. No information that I could find on how many they're planning on making. *Shakes in excitement*

why dont you try silent hill i'm playing it right now
If you're going down the Xbox 360 route then the one that instantly comes to mind is Dead Rising. It fits your requirement perfectly.

"I am looking for a zombie game where the game is centered around one person who must survive the zombie onslaught.  I'm looking for more of a modern day type scenerio game"

A journalist, in a mall, zombies everywhere. Pick up anything and use it as a weapon.

Only problem is it's an Xbox 360 exclusive at the moment.
I saw commercials for Dead Rising, crossing my fingers that it'd come out for the pc, but I doubt it :P
Yea its Extracton Point, Ive got it its brilliant

Dark Messiah Might & Magic is a good one, On slaught of Zombies when you're in the Crypt, even a tad scary. You literally wield a sword or bow and cut them down to size 1 by 1.

Fear - hl like FPS game.

Doom 3 does a good job too

Resident Evil series are good too

I tried Resident Evil 4.  Decent, but the controls are extremely diffrenent from other first/third person games I've played.  I kind of got bored with the story so I stopped playing.

Doom 3, HL 2 still have been exceeded yet.  I will try some other games mentioned. :)

Yup it's very cool. There's alot of videos floating around about their gameplay, even the templar's short movie i think. About their templar leader.. something like that

Try out youtube and such for their movies.
Already been mentioned, but DEFINATLEY Dead Rising for Xbox 360.  It's a modern day Zombie onslaught that never ends!!!

I played on my house mates Xbox and it's jaw droppingly awesome.  Rediculous zombie deaths, awesome missions and millions of zombies!  No matter how many you kill, theres always more!

If you want a crazy PC for a rediculous onslaught of baddies then get Serious Sam.  That game is not zombie based,  but total carnage.

Imagine 200+ baddies charging at you in one go!

Awesome.

That is some crazy stuff.  Serious onlslaught of baddies for sure!
I RECOMMEND TO YOU RESIDENTE EVIL FROM CONSOLE, BUT YOU NEED A PS2 OR A GAMECUBE, I WILL REPLY AGAIN WITH A GAME FOR PC.

Theres a single player map you can download for Half Life 2 called "The Night of a Million Zombies".

Does exactly what it says on the tin! lol.  Medium sized map with weapons and ammo dotted around that re-spawns after time.  That is one hilarious map, specially with the grav gun and saw blades
jason and andy, you have links to these?

Hi thephalanx,

I see your question has been posted for just over a month now and was just wondering if you needed any more assistance?

I'm hoping that my suggestions have been the most relevant and would really appreciate if one of them could be the Accepted Solution...

Many thanks and good luck with the Undead!
Andy
Resident Evil series... Very nice too... waiting for Resident Evil 4 this june... :D
I'm chompin at the bit for that "No More Room In Hell" game.  Any idea about its release?
From the FAQ section of the www.nomoreroominhell.com website...

When do you guys expect a release?
When it's done. To throw a date on the table, Spring 2006, but it's highly subject to change.
I think it might include other things than zombies but Hellgate:London looks very promising - out later this year i think?

I agree with some of the above and I've played the original Half-Life "They Hunger 1, 2 and 3".  This is exactly what you are looking for.

Great mod!!!!
I'm really wanting that "No more room in hell mod" but it appears they dropped the idea or what?
Have you considered S.T.A.L.K.E.R "Shadow of Chernobyl"?

http://www.stalker-videogame.com/

Not according to their website, maybe a few setbacks and slow downs but they are still alive (how ever  undead zombie developers can be alive) :)

Left 4 Dead looks great!

The no more room in hell mod, does that install right onto HL2?
It sure does :-D

I believe so. Obviously you'll need HL2 already installed. When/If they release the MOD download, the setup.exe should properly handle the install for you. Either that or they will supply an install readme file with instructions.

If you haven't already, have a read in the NRiH forum - http://www.nomoreroominhell.com/forums/ for more recent information.

If you want a single man game then i would recomend "Grand Theft Auto- Liberty city stories".
I have played this in PS2, but PC version is also available i guess..
In this u have a number of missions to finish.... u are the only one to face the whole challenge...
think its a good game..
This was a great thread.  Thanks again for all suggestions.  Hopefully some of these get put together so I can play them!  Cheers.
Thank you for the points and have fun gaming. =)
Hey there I thought I might add a suggestion.  I stumbled across this one game that my friend recommended by saying it scared the pants off him.  It's called "Nosferatu: the Wrath of Malachi".  It's an older game, not very demanding I don't think.  Technically it's a vampire game but there are plenty of zombies to blast too.  Your family has been abducted by a cult trying to revive an ancient vampire.  It's up to you to use what crude weapons you can find to explore the mansion, unlocking doors and killing undead.  All the while, trying to beat the clock before your siblings become blood sacrifices to Malachi.

Your weapons consist of wooden stakes, holy water, a flintlock pistol and rifle, and a few others you find later in the game.  There is the occasional cinematic scene to bring you into the story.

This game isn't as well put together as some more modern splatterfests, but was a good enough to distract me for a few days, and did manage to scare the pants off of me on more than one occasion.

Happy Hunting!
