Cisco 831 Rommon error.....please help
Hello all,
I was trying to reload my CRWS and ended up erasing my flash. ( this is what I think I did)
This is how my router was configured before the disaster:
System flash directory:
File Length Name/status
1 4422648 c831-k9o3y6-mz.122-8.YN.bi n
[4422712 bytes used, 3703752 available, 8126464 total]
8192K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)
Router#show webflash
Web flash directory:
File Length Name/status
1 986 ConfigExp.cfg
2 474217 CRWSbHlp.html
3 826886 CRWS_1.jar
4 343091 CRWS_2.jar
5 61382 CRWS_VPNLogin.jar
6 47026 GUI.html
7 4895 home.html
8 8082 loading.gif
9 3463 VPNLogin.html
[1770620 bytes used, 64388 available, 1835008 total]
2048K bytes of processor board Web flash (Read/Write)
Router#
I then reloaded and got to a command prompt of Rommon 1>
The output is shown below:

Sorry to sound like such a novice (b/c I am) but what is my exact problem.
What is my goal I should try to accomplish?
I was trying to reload the CRWS into my webflash and it asked me if I wanted to erase my flash and I think I pressed yes.
I want to say that I thank you for your quick response.
So all I need to follow these steps?
Thanks

Yes. You erased the IOS. You need to load the IOS. Follow the steps in disaster recovery as posted.

I do not have a copy of IOS. Do I need one?
I only have tftp set up.

do you wish to change the configuration? y/n [n]:
Yes. You will need a copy of IOS from
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Iosplanner/Planner-tool/iosplanner.cgi
No. Do not worry about the confreg command.
Just
IP address of the router.
IP_ADDRESS= ip_address
Subnet mask of the router.
IP_SUBNET_MASK= ip_address
IP address of the default gateway of the router.
DEFAULT_GATEWAY= ip_address
Variable Command
IP address of the TFTP server from which the software will be downloaded.
TFTP_SERVER= ip_address
The name of the file that will be downloaded to the router.
TFTP_FILE= filename
Optional Variables
These variables can be set with these commands before using the tftpdnld command:
Variable Command
Configures how the router displays file download progress.
0—No progress is displayed.
1—Exclamation points (!!!) are displayed to indicate file download progress. This is the default setting.
2—Detailed progress is displayed during the file download process; for example:
* Initializing interface.
* Interface link state up.
* ARPing for 1.4.0.1
* ARP reply for 1.4.0.1 received. MAC address 00:00:0c:07:ac:01
TFTP_VERBOSE= setting
Number of times the router attempts ARP and TFTP download. The default is 7.
TFTP_RETRY_COUNT= retry_times
Amount of time, in seconds, before the download process times out. The default is
2,400 seconds (40 minutes).
TFTP_TIMEOUT= time
Whether or not the router performs a checksum test on the downloaded image:
1—Checksum test is performed.
0—No checksum test is performed.
TFTP_CHECKSUM=setting
Using the TFTP Download Command
The steps described in this section should be performed while in ROM monitor mode.
Step 1 Use the appropriate commands to enter all the required variables and any optional variables described earlier in this section.
Step 2 Enter the tftpdnld command as follows:
rommon 1 > tftpdnld -r
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Iosplanner/Planner-tool/iosplanner.cgi

Got it to work, but I still need to IOS software, I tried to use IOSHUNTER 3.2
It did not have c831-k9o3y6-mz.122-8.yn.bi n
What good places could I find this Image? I tried another one that was similiar, but it took up too much memory.
Got any ideas?
( I will award you the points, thanks for the support)

Hello RPPreacher:
I am very grateful for getting your email. I loaded it using TFTP and I reset the router using the confreg 0x2102 and it keeps rebooting with the following: Please let me know what you think.

Wow the help is excellent.
I got the file, but how do I make my router stop trying to boot. How do I enter Rommon?
I powered it off and on and it still keeps rebooting over and over again without a command prompt.
P.S. I am out of points ( my max was 150) I and going to get a month of membership and give you 500. I also can set another forum and offer those 5000 points to you as well. You could keep racking up the points with this case if you want. I will let you know when I get more points, then we can open up different cases.
Let me know if this interests you.

Would you like to open up another forum?
Let me know, I just got a month of unlimited points.

During boot just press escape
ASKER
I tried nothing happened. I also tried to press the break button.
ASKER
Got it to work. I had to go to the server and press the CTR-break keys and it stopped rebooting. I then used the new image file and it booted up and actually saved all the configurations before the disaster.
