I want to find out what the NLS_DATE_FORMAT is set to in Oracle

to see the server setting:
select value from v$parameter where name = 'nls_date_format'
the session settings:
select * from nls_session_parameters where parameter = 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT'

Ok, angellll your second suggestion has worked for me but the format is this
DD-Mon-RRRR
what does the RRRR mean??
