SUN break sequence through iLOM

I have a SUN X4200 , brand new from factory. i want to install a different OS from the factory pre-installed ona and so i am trying to send a break signal through the iLOM interface..

i connect via serial to the iLOM, then i type "start /SP/console" to enter console mode, and then i type the default break sequence which is ESC B (shift b), but nothing happens!

Hi, my serial setting are fine and i can in fact connect to the serial port, as i have already indicated. What i am not able to do is to send it a BREAK signal while connected to the iLOM

Crazy question but what the heck....
You are hitting ESC (letting go) and then SHIFT B, right?
That is how I read the instructions but your note above can be read differently.
I may be just restating the obvious...

Per the docs:
You can switch back to the SP CLI from the serial console by entering the
Esc (
key sequence.
Perhaps you can then try sending the break from there.
Lastly, update the firmware.
Good luck.
Hopefully, you solve it and post back. I'm curious now...
Unix OS
Unix OS

Unix is a multitasking, multi-user computer operating system originally developed in 1969 at Bell Labs. Today, it is a modern OS with many commercial flavors and licensees, including FreeBSD, Hewlett-Packard’s UX, IBM AIX and Apple Mac OS-X. Apart from its command-line interface, most UNIX variations support the standardized X Window System for GUIs, with the exception of the Mac OS, which uses a proprietary system.
