Has anyone ever heard of a 24-port 3Com managed switch that is not compatible with a Cisco firewall? Or any switch that would not be compaitble with a Cisco firewall. Thanks!

No, actually I am chuckling and still asking the question. I have never heard of anything of the sort, but before I say anything I wanted to check with the experts. A friend is having a Cisco firewall installed and the tech is saying that the switch is not compatible with the firewall. They are both ethernet and can hook together so that is not an issue, but when the swicth is hooked up apparently nobody can get out to the internet (I guess something liek that). He use to have a little Netear router that worked fine with the switch and has for the last year or so.

Sure, a non-ethernet switch could not hook up to a PIX because a PIX only has ethernet ports.
