Event ID 1000 Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
I have been getting this error and dont know what to do, can anyone help me?

I have inherited an issue from a previous admin and desperately need a solution...
I have searched the planet for an answer and nobody seems to have a clue ...
I am an experienced admin with AD, SQL and Sharepoint experience, hoever MS has provided no way to tell WSS to stop trying old databases that are no longer needed.
Furthermore ...
I have found no way with the information provided above to resolve this issue. My issues is similar, but of coarse a different Database name. The easy fix is to connect the db, however I am trying to make a VM and this db is over 11GB.
- I have removed the Sharepoint Site associated
- I have also disconnected the associated database in SQL
Shortly after I start getting this error....
