Why is sizeof(string) 32 bytes?
When I ran the following program in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, the output was 32. Why is sizeof(string) 32 bytes.

{
cout << "The sizeof of string is " << sizeof(string) << endl;
return 0;
}
