asked on

ASP.NET GridView auto-refresh

I am plan to add a metatag. in the <head> section.... <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300">  to refresh a gridview ~ every 300 seconds.

The question is what else do I need to ensure that the gridview (binds) and refreshes the gridview and the last paged say index page #3 in fact reflects the latest data?

help!

just be sure to bind the grid in page_load and don't use any ispostback conditional to make sure the grid rebinds on every refresh

Thank you so much for your response to my question.

Before I click accept; could you kindly please confirm the following:

Assuming I am using C# .
What would the code look like for binding the GridView in page load function as suggested above.

Additionally, I am using a master page in my web site for 5 or more pages with a gridview. What impact will the master page <head> section.... <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300">   have on the other pages?

Again, thank you.
