Printer not responding

Hello,

We run a Novexx Xxtreme card/label printer off a Dell PC.  The printer has worked day in day out since the PC was installed brand new approximately 6 months ago.

The printer:
* is connected to the PC by a parrellel cable.
* uses the nice label driver

After having printed a number of jobs, the user went to print a new job and the printer ceased responding to print requests from the PC

We have tried:
* rebooting both the PC and the printer (numerous times)
* connecting a different PC to the printer
* connecting PC to other printer - worked fine
* alternate parrallel cables (both cables tested fine on other printer)
* resetting printer - on/off + Feed + Cut
* print tests from system commands in printer - all worked fine.

Help desperately needed?

I would check the 'spooler' to see if a print job has 'stalled'. If a job fails to print, all subsequent jobs will not que, untill the last job has printed or been cancelled. If the PC prints OK to a different printer, is the 'other printer' using the same driver?? Spoolers are resident to the driver, not the PC.  What type of printer are we talking about and what type of printer did the PC correctly print to??

Printers and Scanners

A printer is a peripheral which makes a persistent human readable representation of graphics or text on paper or similar physical media. Traditional printers are being used more for special purposes, like printing photographs or artwork, and are no longer a must-have peripheral; 3D printing has become an area of intense interest, allowing the creation of physical objects. An image scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, have evolved from text scanning "wands" to 3D scanners used for industrial design, reverse engineering, test and measurement, orthotics, gaming and other applications.
