How can I tell whether I have Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) Standard or Premium?

I have an installation of Small Business Server 2003, there doesn't seem to be ANY way to tell whether its Standard or premium edition, how can I tell the difference? I know premium should have ISA and SQL, but this may not have been installed at point of installation.

Thanks

Hi
For all Microsoft software you get a COA ( a sticker located on the server) with Serial number. On that sticker you will read the version of SBS.

ASKER

The company which we have just started dealing with (200 miles away) neither has a COA ( that would be too easy!) or media.

I have even done a Microsoft Consumption report, but shows nothing, so obviously it must be OEM/FPP but they have lost the documents/CD's.

We have full Remote Desktop access, any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi The COA MUST BE on the server. If they have lost the COA then the software is illegal. Any invoice for the server?

Not so - Ive installed SBS for a customer and got the code from an eOpen account - there was no COA at all. In my experience ive only seen COA stickers on OEM versions of SBS.

There are only a couple of ways of telling this and most have been mentioned already and I note you do not have access to the CD's anymore but....

1. Check the CD's. If its premium you will have more CD's as ISA and SQL come on a sepearte CD.
2. If ISA or SQL are installed.
3. Contact the vendor who the product was bought through. Thats it I am afraid.

Small Business Server (SBS) is a line of server operating systems targeted at small businesses by bundling the operating system with a number of other Microsoft products that would normally need to be purchased or licensed separately. The most notable inclusions are Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint and ISA/TMG (Microsoft's firewall and proxy server).
