asked on

Copy list of files

Hi guys,

I have a list of files and their paths in an excel spreadsheet.

I need to copy this list of files to another location. How do I do this without having to manuallydarg and drop?

Thanks,

Chris

Copy/paste the sheet (or save it as a csv format) and use the following from a command line:

for /f %a in (C:\YourFile.csv) do copy %a c:\Destination

should loop through each file and copy to the Destination folder...

I presume the filenames each need to be on a different line.

Where there are spaces in the filename/directory tree, it can't find the file. Any way round this?

I've tried adding speech marks to the entries in the CSV file.

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
