Backup Exec

Greetings.
Running Standard Edition Server 2003 SP1.
I am trying to install BackupExec 10d RAWS.  When I browse out to the BEAgents share and try to install the Remote Agent (from RANT32 folder), I can start the install, Windows Installer pops up for a few seconds but then goes away and the install never completes.  Help Please.  Thanks!

Did you check the installer logs ?

have you checked the Symantec site regarding similar issues ?

Did you check that your antivirus is not interfering or Firewall ?

I hope this helps !

Yes, I turned on antivirus.  No, there is nothing on the website.  There are no errors, but the Appplication log logs the following event.

Is this working on any other servers ?

Do yo have the latest Veritas patches, adn BEAgents ?

You may have to contact Symantec ad open a ticket.

I hope this helps !

The program installed and is working fine on a different Win2K3 server we have.   This one had a crash and was reloaded.  I had no problems with installing any other programs.

Thanks.

OK, so now I am on a completely different network trying to install the remote agent on a Windows XP (also completely different) system and am getting the same error.  This time I also tried to install the Agent directly from the Veritas CD.  Same problem.  I verified that Domain Users have full rights on the folder andthe share.  There is an Application log that completes after you attempt to run the install.

A remote "push" install seems to be the trick.  Please close this question.
