two subnets on the same network

Hi,

After two years of working in my company, I've found out that the technicians are using my network with another subnet on the same switches.  No routing or bridging.  Just on the same switch.

My network subnet is 255.255.0.0 and my techicians is using 255.255.255.0.  My servers/DHCPs/printers are using sets of IP of 192.168.1.x, 192.168.2.x, 192.168.3.x, 192.168.4.x.  My technicians are using only 192.168.200.x.

Is this a going to be a problem?

Thanks,
Ricky

Yes, multiple subnets on the same LAN is normal, but just not when the subnet masks make the subnets overlap...it could potentially cause routing issues.  With that said, if everything is being switched with switches (as opposed to routing with routers) then you probably won't see any issues because the switches will simply be using MAC addresses.
