Pause or Break TOAD Queries

In TOAD's SQL Editor, can I force a query timeout or do a pause or break in a query I'm trying to run if it takes too long?  I'm trying to stop queries that take too long without having to CTRL-ALT-DELETE on TOAD altogether.

Select SQL / Run Query From Thread. This will allow you to cancel the query when it's running. There should also be an icon for it on your tool bar.

I don't see Run Query From Thread anywhere.  It's usually too frozen for me to select the Cancel button.

Not really...using TOAD for work.  So CTRL-ALT-DELETE it is then?

Ok, wait I see Process Statements In Threads/Allow Queries to Be Cancelled in the Options section under SQL Editor and I checked and am running a query but shouldn't there be a cancel button somewhere for me to actually cancel it?  I'm not seeing one...

Are you looking in the SQL Editor? Let me know if you found it or not.

Look at View / Options / SQL Editor. Process statements in threads. Then you can cancel from the SQL Editor toolbar. Another second technique / method is, from SQL Editor, you can also run in background, and cause a new window to open. This new window can be closed to cancel the query.
