DIscrepancies Between Network Folders

Hello,

I'm backing up data from my laptop to a shared drive on a desktop.  I'm using DOS batch files to do it.

Everything seems to be going well, except that there is a slight discrepancy in the number of files in each respective directory.

For example, the "My Documents" folder on my laptop has the following properties:

Size:  10.3 GB
Size on Disk:  10.4 G
Contains:  6,483 FIles, 1,330 Folders

The "My Documents" folder on the desktop has the same size properties but the contains folder contains 6,375 Files, 1,268 Folders

My other folders appear to have the same type of discrepancies, the size is identical, but the file and folder counts are slightly lower on the backup drives than on the laptop.

Anybody know why there's this inconsisttency?

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
