i think your linksys router does not support vpn configuration so you have to work with software vpn ...so try with openvpn ..http://openvpn.se/

The BEFVP41 Has Native vpn functionality in it - Its designed to create up to 70(!) tunnels between other BEFVP41 devices as well as cisco PIX, and numerous other VPN solutions.

I've got one, and it's great! No wi-fi built in, though.

You can find them on ebay cheap... I picked mine up for a mere $22.00

Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Linksys routers support VPN, however the router model that you gave i.e : "wrt54g" does not have a capability to create a VPN Tunnel.
If you go to your router's Page ( Which typically is 192.168.1.1 ) , go to the SECURITY tab and there go to the VPN sub heading, you will find :
IPSec Passthrough ,
PPTP Passthrough and
L2TP Passthrough are all enabled.
All you need to do is to get a software VPN client Installed on both the ends.

OR

If you want to make it Easier for you, then you need to pick 2 VPN Routers amongst RV042, RV082, RV016, or WRV54G ( VPN Router with Wireless capability - Working on G Technology just like your existing router ). Prefereably you could use the same model at both the places. That will make your VPN networking a lot easier for you to create and maintain as well.
All you need to do is innstall the latest Firmware from the Linksys site, and setup a couple of settings in the router. You will be good to go.
If you need further assistance, Please let me know.

Hi Saravanan
A slightly different method, but you may be able to get some ideas from: http://www.subvs.co.uk/ipcop_openvpn_with_dd-wrt_client
