application and memory error
I have continually recieved this error message. userinit.exe-application error. and that the instuction at 0x008 1ede0 referenced memory at 0x0000ba0 could not be read. I have run memory test and all have passed yet this error keeps coming up. I read where this process is supposed to run and not to stop it because it is for logon, yet I need to not have it error out. Is there a fix. I have run adware and spybot and virus scans and all is well. I am at the end. I did actually have a bad memory chip on one but this is killing me. Thanks.

try these (your bad ram chip can have corrupted the data on the disk) :
- a scan disk for errors (or chkdsk : http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/chkdsk.mspx?mfr=true )
- run sfc /scannow from the run box

- run sfc /scannow from the run box
