Excessive time to burn a movie to DVD.

Am running eMac with 375 Meg G4 (700 Mhz) with OS 10.4.8. Added LaCie DVD 4X DVD burner. Using iMovie and iDVD to burn a 20 minute movie takes over 2 hours to burn the DVD. The G4 processor is relatively slower (700 Mhz) than in newer machines. Could additional memory improve performance? I could upgrade to 750 Meg or 1Gig.

I will add some memory. Since scratheyboy has the same hardware and OS level except for installed memory, then adding memory is a reasonable and inexpensive ($25-$60) course of action vs. buying ($1100) a new machine. In my experience, when a computer is memory starved for an application, the processing speed is very slow. Swapping RAM memory with hard drive memory occurs.

I will report on the results when I install and test the memory. Thanks all.
