133 and 100 pc

Is pc100 interchangeable with pc133 ram?  This older machine has 64 pc100, I have a 128 of PC133, can I use it.  Although there is another slot it doesn't recognize the second stick of 64 pc100, is this slot dead?  To try the 133, is there a danger to hurt the system?

It should work as Callandor suggested within certain limitations. It would be easier to tell you a more accurate answer if we knew the motherboard model. I know that socket 370 Intel boards that had the 810 chipsets would not work with pc133, so there is a possibility it won't work.

Will it hurt the system? usually not , but there is always a risk with so little info to go on.
