Wireless connection between MAC OS and Parallels/Windows
We are a Windows shop but our President has a MacBook Pro which we have installed Parallels on. Had internet and wireless working on both the MAC OS and on Parallels. Currently the wireless is not working when he is on the road altho it works for him on his home network. Parallels is not seeing any wireless networks, doesn't show a wireless connection at all. Have disabled the Windows firewall, made certain the IP addresses are at DHCP, etc. Not being MAC gurus, what steps can we take next?

Yes that is correct. We have verified his networking is set to DHCP and Windows firewall is disabled.
Usually if Windows can't see any wireless networks, but you know there are some around, it's because the wireless card / adaptor isn't recognised by Windows. He should check the device manager to ensure wireless is installed and recognised. Either way this isn't really a Mac problem in fairness.
If the wireless networking under Parallels WORKS on his home network then it is purely a configuration problem under Windows.
Check the Wireless Properties under Windows to see what configuration problems there ae .. it is basically a Windows problem.

Could be the guy on the road being a muppet ;)

Actually it ended up being in the MAC OS - internet was not shared. User is not a muppet.
i am havign the same problem, except i cannot get the wireless connection in parallels to work with any network.
how did you "share" the interent on the mac os, i am in the sharing under system preferences but i am new to MACs and am confused as to how to configure it so the parallels can share the wireless connection that i am connected to on my mac.
what is the configuration in parallels for the network card that i have to setup?
thank you.

1. Go to System Preferences in the MAC OS
2. Under Internet & Network/Sharing/Internet
3. Make sure that the Internet Sharing is ON. If it is not, click on the Start button. All the Ports should be checked.
Took us a while to get this as the MAC OS usually finds the internet immediately. But this has to be turned on for Parallels to find it as well. We have not had any issues with disrupting the network by turning this on.

In OSX the laptop wireless connection can browse and connect to wireless networks anywhere.
In Windows under Parallels the wireless connection can browse and connect to wireless networks ONLY in his home.
When away from home Windows under Parallels CANNOT browse and see any wireless networks and therefore cannot connect to any.
Am I correct?
