Winzip error
I am using winzip to compress files. after it is done I can right-click on a zipped file -click explore and see the files.
But some zipped files when I right click on them then click explore it throws a message: "The compressed(zipped) folder is invalid or corrupt"
I tried several times to zip the files and it throws the same error.
any idea?
thanks

Are these files you have created or been given?
ASKER
these are BAK files ( sql backup files) that I zipped, but some of the zipped files I cannot open them.
Are you able to unzip same zip files at another computer?

flycomanche:
that's the same version I am using right now.

Let's try cleaning out all the extraneous garbage that collects in Windows. Download and run CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com). This also includes a registry cleaner. Run the cleanup and registry functions.
Reboot and do a defrag.
If your problem still occurs, uninstall WinZip, then reinstall.
Question - is your disk NTFS or FAT32?

It's NTFS
The disk full error sometimes would occur on FAT32 partitions. Not the case here.
Try the cleanup and reinstall and let us know.

This problem happens just for large size zipped files.
How large? Bigger than 4GB? If so, see:

any updates>???
Waiting for your response to my last suggestion. Did it work? If not, exactly what errors are your getting. And what size zip files? Please provide answers to our requests for more information so we can proceed. Thank you.

initially the error was:
Possible cause: Disk Full or system limits exceeded.
Now I still can zip large size files, but when I open(explore) the zip file there few columns there and 2 of them shows packed size and the other one just size.
so the 36 gb file when it get zipped the packed size shows a little bit over 2 gb and size show a little bit over 4 gb.

I thought the same way.
36 to 2 or 4 didn't seem right, but when I Unziiped the file it extraxted 36 GB , so it works fine.

jskfan - could you explain the C grade? Typically this grade is only given on questions where the answer was unacceptable, or didn't address the issue. Did we not resolve your issue? If not, let me know and we can continue to explore solutions.
