Play on Windows XP

Maybe a Challenge but i want to know if you guys can find a way to make Cutthroats: Terror on the high seas run on windows XP?

Without that many crashes of course , i can play it right now but it crashes every 10minutes or so...

I'm not 100% sure exactly why the game crashes every 10 minutes, but I imagine it's due to a compatibility issue. If you right click on the game icon and go to properties, then click on the compatibility tab and check the box to run the program in compatibility mode, first try windows 95 compatibility mode, then try windows 98.

If that doesn't work then the best thing I can recommend (Depending on how hardcore you really are) is to use a program like VirtualPC to create a 'virtual' Windows 95/98 computer (Ie. You're not *really*, but even Windows 95 (or 98) itself will be fooled!) - so I hope you kept your old Windows install disk! Note: This is *not* the same as a dual boot setup.

Once you're installed you can then install the game on your virtual computer and as if by magic it really *will* just work. The drawbacks though are that you will need more hard disk space for the extra Windows install, and you may need a *slightly* beefier computer to compensate for the extra resources this solution will need, though the overheads are surprisingly low!

And then as if by magic, it really will run perfectly now ;-) (Or at least, as perfectly as it ever did!)
