c# bigint to variable question

If I have a databale that has a column called AreaID and the value of that column is bigint

How would I go about setting that value inot a varibale in c#..what would the equivilent be?

long?  how would you convert from the table column value into the variable if it is long?

long will do

long Value = Convert.ToInt64(valuefromdb);
