What is DAC Data Width

Hi
Want to get a new sound card for my new 5.1 speakers.
Want something cheap.
I found a really cheap one that says it's DAC Data Width = 16. There's another that's a bit more expensive that's DAC Data Width  = 24

I just want to know what "DAC Data Width" means

DAC = digital to analogue converter ; the number of bits is with how much bits it is sampled ; more info :
