Running argouml java software on ubuntu

what it the why to run argouml java software on ubuntu

when I open the archive file there are many .jav files
and argouml.sh

Try running "./argouml.sh" or as suggested on Argoulml site, run "java -jar argouml.jar".

both not doing anything
is seems that the hard drive is running but nothing happanding and argo is not loading
after few secends the hard drive stop to work (the os is still working)

I updated the sun java and use this command to udate the java version
sudo update-alternatives --config java
