How to create ODBC connection for MYSQL database

Dear ALl,
Iam  designing application in Jave using Mysql as my backend. My Server is Linux in which i have installed the mysql databse.  All my client machines are Windows with various version, mainly windows XP. I want to create ODBC connection for my Mysql Database which is running inmy Linux Server, Using that ODBC connection i want perform operations in my application.

Pls help me.

ODBC drivers can be found at the mysql website: http://www.mysql.com/products/connector/
Connection strings for it, can be found at http://www.connectionstrings.com/?carrier=mysql
