Purge Command greyed out in system manager (Exchange 2000)

O/S = Exchange 2000

Hi,

I have deleted several users from AD but they still appear in the Exchange system manager, but the purge command is greyed out ?

How can I complete delete these users ?

right click on the mailbox store and run clean up agent
once that has finished you would see a red X on the disconnected mailboxes
the mailboxes can be purged once they are disconnected.

Tried that the clean up agent doesn't see to do anything...

if you deleted the user accounts few minutes back then the delay could be due to replication delays. try waiting for some time or force a replication between the DCs using AD sites and services and then run the clean up agent after that.
the purge command will be available only when the mailbox is disconnected
