Can Veritas restore and merge tapes craeeted by Arcserve

If I was to switch from Arcserve to Veritas...would Veritas be able to read media that was used by Arcserve for backups. Would Veritas be able to merge tapes and do restores from tape sets created by arcserve?

actually the answer to this yes veritas can read arcserve data..my cdw rep was wrong
