In the exchsrv folder, there is a share folder with the name of Exchange.log.  In it is about 16G of .log files.  There are not the transactional files which begin with E.  What are these files, and can we eliminate them?

Thanks in advance!

This is the Message Tracking folder.  You can set it up to delete files after so many days.  It sounds like you have message tracking turned on and no limit set as to when to delete these files.  If you go into your exchange system manager under administrative groups, first admin~, servers and right click on the server to go to properties, you will see a check box for message tracking.  Underneath that you will see a place to 'remove log files' and a box to set a retention period.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Is there any reason to keep these logs at all?  If so, what would you recommend?

I would recommend 30 days retention.  The message tracking files are good for troubleshooting email send, receive and routing issues.

Gald I could help...
