Photoshop - rectangle selection

I want to color a part of my image,

this part must be 800x100,

So I am making this rectangle selection, but I can't see anywhere how to specify a width and height for my rectangle selection ...

sounds basic though ...

Thank u for any tips !

using photoshop cs2:

select the rectangular marquee tool

under window, make sure there is a check next to 'options'

this gives you an info bar under the file menus

in that bar, with the rectangular marquee tool selected, changed the 'style' pop up menu to 'fixed size'

plug in your dimensions 800 for width ad 100 for height

now go to the canvas and click one time, there you go a perfect 800x100 marquee that you can fill with color or whatever else you need.

to verify:
make sure there is a check next to 'info' under the 'window' file menu. this should display the info palette. in there, you will see the w:800 and h:100 for your marquee.
