Hi,

Currently, our user do have a common MS Outlook account which shares amount several users (in fact, this is an account for recruitment which used in HR).  Since the no. of emails grow fast and we need to setup auto archieve for them.  Yet, problems come ... when one of the colleague's PC is set to perform the auto archieve, the archieve do really work and save the old mail to a pst file which located in a common server folder.  Yet, when other colleague want to retrieve the old email from the archieve, it says that the pst is in used by others and it seems only allow one and only one user to open the archieve at the same time.

Cause the no. of email is quit a lot, and it is essential for more than 1 user to retrieve the old email at the same time.  I do think of expanding the server space for that account but my boss ban me in doing so cause this will allow the user to have an excuse not to backup any email.

Are there any ways to allow the user to retrieve old emails in the same pst file at the same time ?

Cheers
Stanley

Outlook will only allow you to access the same PST one person at a time.  Maybe you can schedule who will access the PST in a certain time period.

Best wishes!

Consider using a third party program like PublicShareFolder to share emails among your workgroup
