On my form, I have 2 textboxes where the user enters a first name and a surname, then clicks a button to find matching records.

My question is - I dont want the button to be clickable until both text boxes have been filled. How do I do this?

You need to  use the required filed validators or javascript in order to flash the message the both fileds are required. I think this is good approch for this .
