I have two graphics card in my computer. Both are G-Force FX 5200 cards, one AGP and one PCI. I had been running two 19" monitors w no problem. I just upgraded to 4 20" Sceptre monitors. My graphics cards each have a VGA and DVI port. The two monitors plugged into the VGA ports show resolution of 1680x1050 and work great. The two monitors plugged into the DVI ports with DVI-D cables show resolutions of only 1280x1024. Why are my DVI ports getting lower resolutions?

Did you try to configure the DVI output to have a different resolution than 1280x1024?  When you are using both ports on a video card, they can be set independently.

I was told by Sceptre that they had expierienced issues with GEForce FX5200 cards before regarding setting higher resolutions on DVI ports and that they knew of no work around for this "bug". I bought 2 new GEForce FX5200 cards, one AGP and one PCI but with two VGA ports instead of one VGA and one DVI. The new cards with VGA only support the monitors fine now.
