Data recovery, shows recovery partition as (Secure File System (Peter Gutmann))

I need to recover some files from the hdds but i don't know why all the previous hdds i have used turned out to give me this information as the hdd partition is only secure file system (peter Gutmann) and i can't seem to recover any files from there.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The partition would seem to have been encrypted using a third party utility. unless you have access to the utility and the encryption key your chances of recovering from it are zero.
