I am trying to install Quickbooks Pro Edition 2006 on a Windows XP Pro workstation. I am getting the following error msg when I initially try to install the application: Dialogue Window Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtme Library, Windows Text: Runtime Error! Program: C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe
I have attempted to install the Windows Installer 3.1 and also the C++ Runtimes. Can any suggest some possible solutions. Thank you.

It's very possible that you have a .net framework error or conflict.
The first and most usual cause of this is antivirus software that was not disabled during install.
Go into add/remove programs and remove quickbooks entirely.
   Disable any antivirus program temporarily.
INstall Quickbooks to an entirely new directory.
   Run the program.
   Reenable Antivirus.
Holler if you need more help.

I did a repair installation of .net 1.1 and made sure to disable the firewall. The installation completed successfully. Thanks.
