Questions about System.security.allowDomain

we have a flash 6 swf that uses System.security.allowDomain

currently we are getting the value dynamically

var mydomain = "www.mydomain.com";

so System.security.allowDomain (_root.mydomain);

we are expecting an upgrade to flash 7 very soon and do not want to
have to change the javascript

now version 7 does not accept www.mydomain.com as the same as pics.mydomain.com

and so we must explicitly pass the correct and full domain from
javascript once we upgrade

the question is this

does flash 7 read www.mydomain.com the same as mydomain.com?

we know that www.mydomain.com is not the same as pics.mydomain.com
but we need to know if www.mydomain.com is the same as mydomain.com?

No..the strings defining the domain must be identical..but you could define both together..

var mydomain = "www.mydomain.com";
var mydomain1 = "mydomain.com";
System.security.allowDomain (_root.mydomain, _root.mydomain1);
