Active Sync on SBS2003 not working.

I am currently setting up a SBS2003 server with Active Sync for a client of mine. I have OWA and OMA working. The problem i have is when i try to sync my device (Imate Jamin in this case) it appears that its woriking. It comes up Syncronoising folders for ages then the messages goes away .

I have just recently changed the default email domain in the virtual directories to the correct domain name.

So to clarify /OMA logs me in from a web browser no problem. Its just when i try to syncronise. THe device appears to time out

Are you using SSL?  Are there any errors posted on the device while syncing or after syncing?

Check the logs on the Exchange server, some, but not all of the EAS problems will generate an event on the server.  Have you tried OMA from the PDA?

hi there, yes i am using SSL and i have purchased a SSL cert for this. THere are no errors on the device after syncing, i cannot find any errors on the exchange server either.

So after the sync does it show that a successful sync was completed by telling you the date and time of last successful sync?

Does OMA work?  try https://host.domain.com/oma from the handheld and see if you can get there and login.  If you get any certificate errors etc.  If OMA isn't working EAS probably woudln't either.  Let me know.

Right i have got the device toi give me an error code now. I have test OMA and this works very nicely, The error code i am now getting is .0x85010004. i have tried the forms based auth fix from microsoft web site with no joy. I have installed a public cert and i can access oma with no cert errors. anyone got any ideas what it could be ? also i am runnign SBS 2003 R2

In mobile settings in ESM do you have any of the Exchange settings turned on such as force password on device etc?  Check the permissionos the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync virtual directory in IIS.  Also make sure that the user account you are trying to sync is enabled to sync in Exchange tasks or features tab in AD.
